About
Mark Fowler

Growing up, I never dreamed of being a lawyer, much less a judge.  The third of seven kids, we learned to share what we had and to respect each other.  We learned responsibility and hard work.  The message growing up was always clear – you can determine your own future if you are willing to work hard for it.  Fast forward, and I find myself 20 years into my law career after college, getting married, graduating magna cum laude from law school while raising a young family, and settling, with incredibly good fortune, in Delaware County.

Why did I want to be your next municipal court judge?  I love our system of law and believe the founding fathers created an incredible system that balances the protection of constitutional rights with finding the truth and justice.  A judge plays a pivotal role in that system by acting as a vigilant watchdog against the infringement of citizen’s rights and abuses of power.

The second reason I wanted to be a judge is because we are in a perilous time in history for the judicial branch of our government.  People’s confidence in our judiciary is paramount in making the system work, and sadly that confidence has vastly eroded over the last several years because of judicial overreach, legislating from the bench, and the use of lawsuits or prosecutions as political weapons.

The people of Delaware County demand and deserve judges who follow the law and do so with respect, integrity, even-handedness, and intelligence.  I know that I can be that judge, among the other judges, for Delaware County.

It is with pride that I accept the appointment to the Delaware Municipal Court bench.  I promise to always be for Delaware County and to always be for you.
